Aimie Michelle Taylor, Interim Assistant Director
Aimie is a graduate of Virginia Tech’s M.A. program in Material Culture & Public Humanities and returned home to Northeast Arkansas in 2017 to enter the A-State Heritage Studies Ph.D. program.  As the granddaughter of a Lake City cotton farmer, she is dedicated to sharing the legacy of Arkansas farmers and works with schools, groups and individuals to arrange educational programs for students of all ages.

Cathy Hunt, Administrative Assistant I and STFM Interpreter
Cathy resides in Lepanto. She helps with tours, special events and manages the museum gift shop.

Tanja Enoch, Graduate Assistant
Tanja is a student in the A-State Heritage Studies Ph.D. program and is working with the museum to document the area’s history through oral histories and documentaries.

Arkansas Heritage Sites

The Arkansas Heritage Sites Office serves as the umbrella for all Arkansas State University Heritage Sites, including the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum. The office is located on the seventh Floor of the Dean B. Ellis Library on the A-State campus in Jonesboro.

Dr. Ruth Hawkins, Executive Director
Ruth is Director of Arkansas Heritage Sites at Arkansas State University, which includes overall responsibilities for policies and programs at the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum in Tyronza, Lakeport Plantation in Lake Village, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center in Piggott, and the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home Project in Dyess. Ruth also is Executive Director of Arkansas Delta Byways, a 15-county tourism promotion association that promotes Eastern Arkansas and its two national scenic byways: Crowley’s Ridge Parkway and the Arkansas Great River Road, and is a faculty member in 10897757_10100623509863734_8477830912030754080_nA-State’s Heritage Studies Ph.D. program.

Paula Miles, Assistant Director, Arkansas Heritage Sites
Paula provides administrative support and oversight for the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum, Lakeport Plantation, Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center, and the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home Project. She also is Treasurer for Arkansas Delta Byways. Her responsibilities include serving as office manager, coordinating special events, and developing ongoing activities in the Delta region and along the Crowley’s Ridge Parkway and the Arkansas Great River Road national scenic byways.
